Mike advises clients on a wide array of transactional matters, including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and structuring matters, capital investments, and commercial contracts.

Mike represents clients ranging from high-net-worth individuals and family offices, to leading private equity firms and public corporations. His experience spans a number of industries, including sports and entertainment, aerospace and defense, music, industrials and manufacturing, healthcare, real estate development, and media. 

As part of ArentFox Schiff’s Sports industry group, Mike serves as assistant general outside counsel to a major sports league and routinely advises the league regarding team sales, expansion matters, and other ownership-related matters. Mike also has experience representing professional sports team ownership groups in team sales and other ownership matters.

Client Work

  • Represented a leading New York-based private equity firm, in collaboration with LeBron James’s family office, in their acquisition of MADE Hoops LLC, the largest youth basketball organization in the United States. 
  • Represented the National Women’s Soccer League in connection with the establishment of the league’s expansion franchises in Boston, Denver, and Atlanta. 
  • Represented a leading music publishing business in the sale of its online music education platform and software services businesses based in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
  • Represented Carlisle Management Company SCA, a Luxembourg-based investment manager, in connection with its acquisition by Abacus Life (ABL). 
  • Represented a family-owned manufacturing company in its acquisition of a government defense contractor. 

Previous Work

Prior to joining ArentFox Schiff, Mike was a corporate associate at a national law firm where he represented private and public companies and private equity firms in the aerospace, defense, technology, manufacturing, and healthcare industries.

Life Beyond the Law

Outside of work, Mike enjoys playing piano and guitar, exploring the D.C. food scene and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes.
