Client Work
Ross is both an accomplished litigator and a trusted advisor. He represents clients in high-stakes trademark and copyright litigation in federal and state courts, the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and other venues. He has particular expertise in the enforcement and defense of non-traditional trademarks, including color marks and product configurations. On the copyright side, Ross has successfully represented clients in disputes over the unauthorized streaming of live sporting events, movies, and television content, as well as the copying of apparel designs, photographs, graffiti, printed publications, and many other types of copyrighted works. Ross’s litigation track record includes successes at all stages of the litigation life cycle, including obtaining temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions, dismissals and judgments at the pleading and summary judgment stages, and victories at trial. Ross has obtained litigation and enforcement successes for clients such as Deutsche Telekom, Burger King, British Petroleum, Unilever, Mars, TelevisaUnivision, Inditex (Zara), Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Natural Organics, and many others.
Ross also regularly counsels multinational companies on strategies for protecting and enforcing their trademarks and copyrights in the United States and around the world. This includes providing guidance on the clearance and prosecution of trademarks and trade dress, negotiating licenses and other IP contracts, and counseling clients on enforcement strategies to combat cross-border infringement, including the importation of counterfeit and gray market goods.
Ross recently served as an expert witness on copyright law, transactions, and litigation in an arbitration in the charter school industry.

Ross served as an intern for the Honorable Paul L. Friedman of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
Professional Activities
Ross is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and currently serves on the Commercialization of IP Committee (Finance and Valuation Subcommittee), and previously served on the Publications Committee (Ideas & Innovations Subcommittee). Ross is also a member of Marques (the European Association of Trademark Owners), and currently serves on the Anti-Counterfeiting & Parallel Trade Committee.
